Since 2006 Make A Green Team, within the Maker Green Team Project have been operating many events waste & recycling schemes in partnership with event organisers across the South West of England & beyond.
There are two strands which motivate our function, one is fundraising & promotion with private enterprise and the other is operating and funding community event waste schemes ourselves. One allows the other.
Many of our waste schemes have been in conjuntion with private event operators (pay entry festivals). We enter these relationships as a vehicle to support our Constitutional statement. These formed private event partnerships are there to raise funding for us. In turn we can then support community organisations who wish to celebrate their communities’ identity & cohesion by facilitating local events. Our input is to deal effectively with waste issues resulting and to train local volunteers within our shared methodology.
Make A Green Team site operations are both unique & innovative. We have a membership of volunteers based across UK who we ask to support local events in their areas.
With recyclables we only use local accredited processors who guarantee recyclables ending up within the recycling chain. We hold relations with major waste operators who transport large quantities of recyclables from event sites for us. We have established links with these waste companies and have specialist contractors who deal with the interesting stuff such as bio aggredigestion materials 'waste to energy'. All operations are relative to size and resources earmarked through initial consultation with event organisers.
Make A Green Team has facilitated events up to 15,000 persons enabling infrastructure, volunteer rotas, trader consultation & site clearance.
Make A Green Team isn't a business - all of us within the organisation are volunteers and hence we follow our Constitutional statement. Our mission is to create a valued volunteer experience & to facilitate as much recycling that can be achieved within the constraints of time and a considered waste budget. Recycling and waste clearance is often very labour intensive, Costs of such provision often comes as a shock to private event organisers. We are frank about this. Volunteering isn't free labour it costs.
Whether you are a private event or a true community festival we're here. If you interested and need more information please call Daryn Manchip office hours - weekdays 10am - 6pm on 0183752184 and we'll see whats possible in 2012.
Private & public event organisers please note we charge a consultation fee to prepair private event evaluation on returm of event organisers forms..This costing does not apply to determined community festival event organisations.
